Resident Population Financial Glossary

What is it? The assessment of the number of people living in the area. This is a measure used by the Government to determine levels of local authority funding. For 2005/2006 it is based on the number of adults as at 30 June 2003 for each authority, as estimated by the Registrar General and adjusted for boundary changes in force from 1 April 2004 to 31 March 2005.
