Pathfinder Project Financial Glossary

What is it? Pathfinder projects are type of project to support research in New and Emerging Science and Technology (NEST) under FP6. Pathfinder initiatives aim to help European scientists to take the lead in pioneering fields and build up European capabilities such fields. They are focused on clearly-identified areas with a long-term promise for Europe, preparing the ground for wider support to new fields in future European research programmes.
