Mutual Fund Financial Glossary

What is it? A regulated investment company with a pool of assets that regularly sells and redeems its shares. Managers buy and sell assets with the income, gains and losses accruing to the owners. The fund stands ready to buy back its shares at their net asset value. The funds may be either load (fees to administer the fund) or no load (no fees).
