LoantoValue Ratio (LTV) Financial Glossary

What is it? The ratio determined by dividing the balance of a mortgage loan by the appraised value of the real estate. For instance, if the balance on a mortgage loan is $80,000 and the appraised value of a home is $100,000, the LTV is 80%.
